Registry News
Nov-Dec 2007
Hi Everyone,

Well, the year is almost at an end and we are halfway through the breeding season already. The season has started to change with a bit of rain about, I am very hopeful that our market will pick up soon and am predicting a HUGE bloom with mini goat demand far outweighing supply again!!!

I would like to say a big HELLO and WELCOME to our new Registered Breeders and to the new "members" that have joined the mini goat venture!!!

The office has been inundated with enquiries of late, I expect it is due to the re-growth of grass with the change of seasons. I have been madly passing on your numbers and directing people to our Breeders lists and to our new Mini Market pages.
A BIG THANKS to Sue Junee and Simone O'Brien for taking on some of the incoming correspondence and for sending information out to our enquirers.

We are now up to 115 registered breeders with 65 actively participating out of 75 that we know still have animals.
We would like to Congratulate the Studs that have had their first "potential" Purebreds!!! We have quite a few Studs that have these little beauties on the ground this year! WELL DONE!!!

We are please to announce the official height verification of a number of A Grade Bucks, again this is a huge "mile stone" for our breed.

Thanks to all of the breeders who have been sending in updated heights for their animals, if we can keep the records coming in, we should be able to "map" the growth rates of our animals, from birth to maturity.

We need OVERHEIGHT height records too please, this will give us complete growth rate patterns for our bigger stock too.

Our website has been re-vamped, registry requirements and information has been updated. We have updated some of our forms and photo requirements, all can be found on this website.
On that note, I would like to take the opportunity to THANK Simone O'Brien for her many hours spent on the website and message boards (even though she is no longer actively participating as a breeder).

I would also like to thank Alison George, Chris Willett, Sue Junee, Steve Groth, Margaret Collins, Mal Atkinson, Karyn Atkinson, Patricia Smith, Tracy Newman and Jo Ward for their on going help and support over the past months with the rapid growth of our little Club!
I would also like to thank the Breeders interstate that have been promoting the breed at their local shows, farmers markets, produce stores and veterinary clinics, we have had lots of enquiries off your fantastic efforts, THANKS GUYS!!!!!

Unfortunately Laidley 2007 (Mini goat section) was cancelled, this was due to problems associated with ages for classes and horn health & safety issues. Anyway, it became necessary to cancel the section, we have until Laidley 2008 to make sure that our classes / ages and rules are all set (in concrete)!!!…. and we are working on them.

Our aim for 2008 will be Promotion - Promotion - Promotion!!!!
I would like to put lots of time into organising shows, fun days and get togethers not only in QLD but hopefully interstate too. We have a great team of volunteers who have kindly donated their valuable time in an effort to help make this all happen!!!
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for 2008, please feel free to send them in, your help and support is ALWAYS greatly appreciated!

Well, we hope 2008 is a great year for you all,

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone, have a safe, happy and prosperous New Year,
Kind Regards from
Sue Ludwig
