Transfer of Ownership and Leasing of Animals

Any person may apply to transfer or lease a registered / recorded animal. Upon sale, exchange, gift, lease or other disposition of a registered animal, a transfer application must be completed and signed by the registered owner listed on the registration certificate.

TRANSFER OR LEASE

Transfer applications will be found on the back of most Registration Certificates, some Registration Certificates without a transfer section will need to have a separate Transfer Application attached.

Lease agreement can be printed from the AMGR forms page.

* If the animal is a female and she has been running with or was bred to a buck, the seller must complete a service certificate.

* The original certificate together with the transfer application (& service certificate if applicable), the prescribed transfer fee and new photo/s are then forwarded to the registrar to be processed. The change of ownership of a registered animal must be lodged with the AMGR before the progeny of that registered animal will be accepted as being bred by the new owner (transferee). The Date of transfer shall coincide with the date of sale for all purposes of the register.

* The Registration certificate, ideally, should be handed over on completion of a sale.
(Some Breeders may offer to transfer the animal for you).

* When TRANSFERRING or LEASING
- Both the transferor and the transferee shall be responsible to confirm that the identification and height of the animal being transferred is in accordance with the certificate of registration before the animal is delivered or consigned to the transferee. Should any discrepancies be found on the certificate please contact the Registry with any enquiries and to update records, after confirming that the Registration Papers are for the animal you are looking at, or have purchased.

*The Registry will not become involved in disputes between Buyer and Seller. The AMGR considers the purchase of a goat to be a private transaction between the buyer and seller. The AMGR does not license, endorse, guarantee or recommend any particular breeder or their animal/s and is not responsible for any of the Breeders listed or anyone engaged in the commerce of selling goats. Disputes between buyer and seller are handled under common law. The AMGR STRONGLY recommends that YOU (advertisers) ensure that adverts comply with Fair Trading Legislation and recommends that YOU (purchasers) do your homework and obtain the animal's registration certificate before handing over your money.
